Bluegrass Supply Earns AIB Certification
Enables expanded use of warehouses
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bluegrass Supply Chain announced that it’s earned certification from the American Institute of Baking (AIB), enabling the company to further diversity its customer portfolio by storing food in its warehouses.
The AIB is a third-party audit service commonly recognized for its certification program of food grade warehousing. Its food safety and hygiene audit services are known worldwide as the standard against which other food safety programs are judged.
Today AIB uses a widely-recognized set of standards to conduct safety audits for food grade warehousing. Its certification process involves a close inspection of the facility, examining operational methods, personnel practices, equipment maintenance, cleaning practices, pest management and adequacy of prerequisite and food safety programs.
Vice President of Value Added Warehousing Mo Jackson said, “Earning AIB certification was a priority for Bluegrass Supply Chain since our trucks primarily service food and auto manufacturing companies. Now, we can extend our line of services to our customers by storing food, and they can feel confident that strict standards are being met.”
